Our Programmes

 

Moonstone Films makes investigative documentaries and current affairs films. Our programmes have revealed abuse in childrens' care homes, the cover-up of child sexual abuse by community leaders in the UK, the human cost of the Government’s drive to save money by slashing its legal aid budget. We work in the UK and abroad - and have a special interest in the MIddle East. 

 Our Executive Producer

Tony Stark’s broadcast experience covers commissioning, executive producing and an extensive career in documentary film-making. He was Head of Documentaries at BBC Arabic where he commissioned a range of long-form investigative documentaries                 .     He's executive produced for Channel Four News. And, as a documentary film-maker, he has spent over 20 years producing and directing long-form programmes for the BBC, Channel 4,  ITV  and  for  a  variety of  American  PBS  channels.  He  has  made three major TV series and   25  other    one-off    documentaries  – films that have been made in Africa, Russia, Europe, North and South America and the Middle East.

 

He's made crafted historical documentaries, observational films, presenter-led programmes, undercover and investigative approaches. Five of the programmes he's made or commissioned have been recognized at international film festivals, including nominations for a BAFTA and a Foreign Press Association award.

 

Tony’s career began at BBC TV where he produced and directed films on a variety of network programmes. He left the BBC in 1989 to become an independent film-maker. He has written a history of transplant surgery, published by Macmillan and a tie-in with a BBC1 series.
